Our Tenor Kim

Kim is a zany individual who in real life is an architect in Fort Worth. He is known to be rather unpredictable and full of information that is pretty much useless to us all in everyday life. During our weekly chorus practice, the mere raising of his hand to speak sends chills up the director's spine. Apparently, appropriate comments in a chorus/public setting is not a course that was taught in the architect regimen. He actually boasts about his prowess in this area ! Quite odd. The fact that he sings tenor shows a basic physiological difference in his makeup against the control group; Alas, we do need tenors to complete Barbershop harmony, so we tolerate the beast so to speak. As we say, How do you tell if your tenor is lying ? Answer, his mouth is open. On a positive note, Kim is married to Kathy Houp - a widow with two sons.

Our Lead Chris

Chris was born at an early age. His musical background began by participating in Band and playing the saxophone. He eventually decided to study instrumental music and make a career as a Band Director in Texas Public Schools. Several years later he came to his senses and transitioned to the world of corporate training development. He is employed at a local aircraft manufacturer in Fort Worth. Chris is married to Fran (the much better half) and they have three daughters, Faith, Kristen, and Katherine. He still occasionally takes out his saxophone and plays (at least, for his amusement). He usually stops playing when the police show up. He has learned that Barbershop quartetting is a lot of fun and not necessarily a contact sport.

Our Baritone Mike

Mike was the last addition to our quartet. That decision had nothing to do with talent, or the lack of it. Baritones by definition do not require talent. Mike normally sings lead, so we are not sure what motivated him to join the quartet. He was welcomed with open arms, however, as he brings a little class to the group. Mike is a famous architect. We would list his hobbies but he doesn’t have any. Architects do not have hobbies-they just work. He does aspire to be a golfer, but clubs and ability continue to hinder him. He is married to Sandy, who, like the other quartet wives, considers herself a Barbershop widow.

Our Bass Dick

Dick represents the "low life” of the quartet, that is, he sings bass. His hobbies include hunting, boating, skin diving and fishing for the low notes on some of the quartet songs. In talent, he considers himself to be “heads above” the rest of the quartet – that is because he is the tallest of the four of us. Don't ask Dick about his hobbies, though, being a fisherman and barbershopper one can't be sure of the accuracy of any of his stories. He is currently married to Linda who, he says, considers herself a lucky woman.
